Hindi Teacher Credential Program
It’s a dream…
Hindi as a world language in our public schools.
In an effort to bring Hindi in Public Schools, we have been successful in establishing
- Teacher Credential Programat CSU East Bay for Hindi Teachers
- Alternate Test for Hindi (Equivalent to CSET Hindi II) approved by CTC (California Commission on Teacher Credentialing) CSET_Hindi II_ApprovalLtr
and still working on
- Finding Philanthropists, to raise funds to support the student teachers
- Recruiting qualified candidates to join Hindi Teacher Credential Program
- Convincing school & school districts to open up Hindi program at their site
Here are few options for qualified candidates…
Option I – If you are a Credentialed Teacher in California, you can take CSET 304 + CTC approved Alternate Test for Hindi Proficiency (offered by GRID – Global Research on Indian Diaspora), and a Methods/Pedagogy class, and add Hindi to your credentials.
Option II – If you are not a Credentialed Teacher, and would like to become one, you can enroll with CSUEB in their Hindi Teacher Education Program.
You must
- have an undergraduate degree from a college or University in US or equivalent
- pass CSET 304 + CTC approved Hindi Proficiency Test for Teachers
- pass CBEST exam
- log 100 classroom observation hours with an approved school
