BECOME A CREDENTIALED HINDI TEACHER

Hindi Teacher Credential Program

It’s a dream… Hindi as a world language in our public schools. In an effort to bring Hindi in Public Schools, we have been successful in establishing:
  • Teacher Credential Program At CSU East Bay for Hindi Teachers
  • Alternate Test for Hindi (Equivalent to CSET Hindi II) approved by CTC (California Commission on Teacher Credentialing) CSET_Hindi II_ApprovalLtr

and are still working on:
  • Finding Philanthropists, to raise funds to support the student teachers
  • Recruiting qualified candidates to join Hindi Teacher Credential Program
  • Convincing school & school districts to open up Hindi program at their site

Here are a few options for qualified candidates… Option I – If you are a Credentialed Teacher in California, you can take CSET 304 + CTC approved Alternate Test for Hindi Proficiency (offered by GRID – Global Research on Indian Diaspora), and a Methods/Pedagogy class, and add Hindi to your credentials. Option II – If you are not a Credentialed Teacher, and would like to become one, you can enroll with CSUEB in their Hindi Teacher Education Program. You must:
  • have an undergraduate degree from a college or University in US or equivalent
  • pass CSET 304 + CTC approved Hindi Proficiency Test for Teachers
  • pass CBEST exam
  • log 100 classroom observation hours with an approved school
